Basing on the advances of cloud computing, the technology market is very developed in this area (for an overview, see Sharma, 2016). Crowdsourcing also plays an important role, and in the light of the climate change and environmental issues energy-efficient data storage methods are also a crucial research priority (Strohbach et al. 2016). Furthermore, to automate complex tasks and make them scalable, hybrid human-algorithmic data curation approaches have to be further developed (Freitas and Curry 2016).
